Last week was one long and unforgettable week! I celebrated my birthday and put on a great event at Wayne State University. It was my 4th year being a part of the Girls' Engineering Exploration; an event where Detroit Public School girls from 4th-6th grade whom are interested in science and math attend a day long session in which they are introduced to engineering.
We also have a session in parallel to the girls' event where the parents and teachers learn about how to get their children involved in engineering related activities. It always feels great to finish up GEE every year and know that we met our goal of getting girls excited about the field of engineering. Next March (2013) will be our 6th Annual Event!!
