Daily Garnish Week

This week we enjoyed meals from one of my favorite blogs, Daily Garnish.  I made a salad and a side dish for each of the meals.  Funny how it was easier and took less time to make than had I made entrees.  Sadly, I didn't get the best photos.  For the one day I had my plate all set up beautifully to take the picture and we couldn't find the camera!  We searched for 5 minutes and I decided I would rather not starve than have a photo.  haha  We went out for Whirly Ball and pizza on Friday, so hopefully I will be making the polenta pizza this weekend.

Monday
Spinach Salad with Miso Dressing
Stuffed Grape Leaves
I was in love with the grape leaves.  The bf's sister raved about the salad.

Tuesday
Balsamic Kale Salad with Apple & Pear
Crispy Blackened Tofu
This tofu was so easy and tasted great.  Served it with a side of quinoa.  The bf's sister, who is a known tofu hater, even tried some and said it wasn't all that bad.

Wednesday
Spiced Brown Rice and Cabbage Salad
Broccoli Cheddar Soup
BF: "This soup is really good...I am scared to ask what is in it."
Me: "It is only broccoli, veggie broth and cheese.....and nutritional yeast."
:)

Thursday
Kale and Avocado Salad with Creamy Hemp Dressing
Asparagus and Mushroom Quinoa Risotto
The bf and his dad finished this one up for me as I had a shopping night planned.  On a side note, the Town Peddler Craft and Antique Shop in Livonia is amazing!  We have a lot of leftovers from this night, but that is because only 2 of the 4 of us ate it.

Friday
I had hoped to make Polenta Pizza but we ended up going to Whiry Ball instead.  Whirly Ball was super fun, a bit frustrating to get the carts to go where you wanted and to throw the ball accurately, but fun nonetheless.

And for the grand finale.....Cheesecake Stuffed Carrot Cake!!!  How can that not sound good?  From now on, every cake I make will have a layer of cheesecake in the middle  ;)  haha
