Hosting Thanksgiving

Ok, this post is a bit late - better late than never?

For Thanksgiving this year, Josh and I had both sides of the family down to our place.  As expected, I created a spreadsheet to keep track of attendees, food and seating.

My biggest dilema was seating.  We had 16 guests and a small-ish dining room.  I really wanted to get everyone around one table, so I ended up putting both leafs in the dining room table, obtaining two card tables from both sets of parents, and purchasing two additional chairs from Bed Bath and Beyond.
And it was a success!  16 chairs around one table.  I had to angle the table in the dining room, but it all worked out  :)

Now onto the most important part about Thanksgiving - FOOD!

We were excited to celebrate 3 birthdays in November!  My mom, Josh's mom and Uncle Mark  :)  So, I made a cake  :)


It was a great Thanksgiving!!  I made as much as I could ahead of time which helped a lot with entertaining and not being stressed on the day of.  Our only mishap was the turkey taking 2 hours longer than it was supposed to, but luckily we had a plethora of appetizers, so no one went hungry  ;)
